CasaTunes Adds Android Control Of Multiroom Audio

Fort
Collins, Colo. –

CasaTunes

has launched
what it calls the custom-install industry’s first Android app to control an
installed multiroom-audio system.

The
Wi-Fi-based app works with Android tablets and cellphones running the Android
2.1 or later OS, including the recently released Gingerbread 2.3 version.

CasaTunes
multiroom audio systems are already capable of being controlled from an
iPhone/iPoid Touch and from a PC’s Web browser.

The
new app controls CasaTunes systems incorporating the company’s multiroom-audio
music server as well as Nuvo and Russound multiroom systems incorporating the
server.

With
the Android app, consumers can view their server’s song selection on their
mobile device’s screen and select songs for playback in any room of the house. Also
with the app, consumers can also create schedules for waking up to music and
create playlists.

It’s
a free upgrade for CasaTunes owners and is available in the Android
Marketplace. Users must search for CasaTunes in the Marketplace.

 Here’s a

video

showing how the app works.
