Canon Fires Out New Bubble Jets

Lake Success, N.Y. – Canon announced two new entry-level color Bubble Jet printers, today: the Canon i250 and i350.

The units will ship will in July for a suggested retail price of $49.99 and $59.99, respectively.

The two printers feature Canon’s MicroFine Droplet technology, and photo/Web printing software.

The i350 delivers color resolution of up to 4800 by 1200 dpi and the high-density print head produces print speeds of up to 16 pages per minute (ppm) in black and up to 11 ppm in color.

The Exif Print-compatible i350 can generate prints from a variety of sources, including e-mails, Web pages and digital images. According to the company, Canon’s Vivid Photo feature gives pictures sharp detail and deeply saturated colors without losing natural shading or skin tones when producing 4 by 6 and 5 by 7-inch borderless photos.

The i250 printer also sports Microfine Droplet technology, for up to 4800 by 1200 dpi color resolution. It prints at speeds up to 12 ppm in black and up to nine ppm in color.

Canon will include two software applications on the Setup Software & User’s Guide CD-ROM to improve photo and Web page printing for the consumer. The Easy-PhotoPrint software allows customers to print photos quickly using menu choices to locate digital images, pick paper size and type, choose the layout and print.

Easy-WebPrint software (Windows only) provides consumers with a tool that automatically resizes Web pages to fit the standard printer page so they may be printed without losing information from the right side of the screen.
