C&A Amps Up Polaroid Camera Offerings

RIDGEFIELD PARK, N.J. – As demonstrated at its recent International CES showcase, C&A Marketing continues to build on the success of its Polaroidbranded imaging products lines, using the famous moniker to put a new spin on the old thrill of instant photo printing.

Among the company’s highlights for 2014 is a square-shaped Polaroid-branded Socialmatic instant printing-and-posting camera, and a trio of Polaroidbranded action sports video cameras with take-anywhere attributes.

The Polaroid Socialmatic camera is said to combine the old classic instant-photo-printing experience popularized by the Polaroid Land Camera with digital world of Socialmatic imaging and sharing. The Polaroid Socialmatic camera packages built-in Wi-Fi and an Android interface into a unique vintage squareshape design.

Users will have the choice of using the 14-megapixel front-side camera or 2-megapixel rear-side camera to capture and immediately post images to social-networking sites, via built-in Wi-Fi. If Wi-Fi isn’t immediately available, the camera can pair with smartphones via Bluetooth.

The Polaroid Socialmatic camera will also allow users to select, print and share images instantly on Zink paper featuring ink-free Zero Ink printing technology by Zink Imaging. Prior to printing, images can be touched up and edited, and consumers can add clip art, icons or text to any image prior to printing or posting.

The camera will output a 2-inch by 3-inch full-color sticker-backed Zink photo in under a minute. The Android interface will accept app downloads for a range of additional creative capabilities. The camera features a 4.5-inch touchscreen LCD display, LED flash, MicroSD card slot and 4GB of internal storage.

In addition to the Polaroid Socialmatic camera, C&A introduced a Polaroid-branded action video camera, model XS100i, which is a Wi-Fi-enabled version of the previous XS100 model.

The go-anywhere camera features high-definition resolution, Wi-Fi connectivity, auto rotation, waterproof technology and an ultra-wide-angle lens.

The point-of-view camera, which is available now at a $179 suggested retail, also comes with mounting gear, allowing photos and footage to be taken from a wide variety of positions and locations.

In addition to Wi-Fi functionality, the Polaroid XS100i camera adds iOS and Android apps so consumers can adjust settings remotely, watch video in realtime, and share videos instantly with friends, family or social media.

It includes a distortion-free 170-degree ultra-wide lens; records video in selectable 1080p, 720p or 960p resolution; and can capture 3-megapixel, 5-megapixel and 16-megapixel still images.

A G-Sensor (Auto Rotation) system automatically adjusts the orientation of the image as the camera rolls and rotates in the field.

It is waterproof up to 30 feet and offers 32MB of internal memory and up to an additional 32GB on a MicroSD card.

In addition, the new Polaroid C3 camera has a special square design with a 5-megapixel CMOS sensor and a 120-degree wide-angle lens that can capture video in selectable 720p, or 640 by 480 resolution, and still images at 1.3 3 and 5 megapixels.

It is waterproof up to 6.6 feet and features a microphone, LED lamp and 2MB of internal memory, with a 32GBcapable MicroSD slot.

Meanwhile, the Polaroid XS1000i camera is a professional HD sports video camera with mounting assembly, a 5-megapixel Aptina CMOS sensor and 170-degree ultra-wide-angle lens.

In addition, this camera will feature anti-shake technology and a gyro sensor to help to keep the shot steady.

Action footage can be captured in 1080p at 30 fps, 960p at 30 fps and 720 at 60 fps.

Both still images and video can be captured simultaneously using a single, burst, continuous and time-lapse mode.

The camera is waterproof to 32.8 feet and is shock resistant.

The C3 and XS1000i cameras will ship this fall at prices to be announced.

To help promote the action video camera line, C&A Marketing brought world champion wakeboarders Harley Clifford and Julian Cohen to International CES as part of the Polaroid promotional team. Clifford and Cohen are promoting the XS80, XS100 and XS100i action video cameras.
