Buzz Aldrin To Keynote CEDIA Event

Indianapolis — Former Apollo 11 astronaut Buzz Aldrin will deliver the keynote speech at the annual CEDIA membership breakfast on Friday, Sept. 11, during the 2009 CEDIA Expo.

The 8 a.m. meeting is open only to CEDIA members.

Neil Armstrong piloted the Apollo 11 lunar module for its landing on the moon 40 years ago on July 20, 1969. Aldrin was the second person to set foot on the moon, after mission commander Armstrong.

Aldrin retired from NASA in 1972. In 1988, he founded the ShareSpace Foundation, whose mission is to encourage space education and foster affordable space travel opportunities. Aldrin’s memoirs, Magnificent Desolation,” will be published in time for the 40th anniversary of the Apollo 11 landing this July.

The EXPO will be held Sept. 9-13 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. Installers can register at www.cedia.org/expo. Early-bird discounts on education and tradeshow access end July 15.
