Oxnard, Calif. – Boss International launched multiple aftermarket car audio products, including three Boss Audio DVD-equipped multimedia receivers, a multimedia-navigation unit, and five marine head units.
Boss International also launched a four-channel amp under the Planet Audio brand and a multimedia head unit under the Sound Storm Laboratories brand.
The Boss-brand navigation unit is the $496-suggested single-DIN BV9969NV, which features a motorized 7-inch widescreen touchscreen that emerges from the dash.
The nav unit is equipped with CD/DVD player, RDS tuner, iPod/iPhone USB, WMA and MP3 decoding, stereo Bluetooth, voice guidance, and navigation maps of the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and Puerto Rico. It also features front and rear USB ports, SD Card slot, subwoofer output, video output, rear-camera input, A/V input, and 4x85-watt amp.
Three new Boss Audio multimedia receivers include two double-DIN models with 6.2-inch widescreen touchscreen, iPod/iPhone USB port, RDS tuner, 4x80-watt amp, MP3 and WMA decoding, SD Card slot, subwoofer output, video output, rear-camera input, and A/V input. The $265-suggested BV9364BI adds hands-free and stereo Bluetooth. The $243-suggested BV9356I lacks Bluetooth.
The third double-DIN multimedia receiver is a mechless model, the $221-suggested BV9348B, which offers all of the features of the BV9364BI but lacks DVD/CD player. The trio ships in March.
Four single-DIN Boss marine receivers with UV-resistant coating consist of a multimedia unit and three mechless units.
The marine multimedia unit is the $249-suggested MR360UV with DVD, 3.6-inch widescreen TFT monitor, RDS tuner, MP3 and WMA decoding, USB port, aux input, SD Card slot, preamp-outputs, rear-camera input, 4x80-watt amp, IR remote, and optional wired remote. It is currently shipping.
The mechless units include $196-suggested MR1350UAB with iPod/iPhone USB, stereo Bluetooth with AVRCP, MP3 and WMA decoding, SD Card slot, aux in, 4x50-watt amp, and front and rear preamp outputs. It’s expected to ship in April.
The $150-suggested mechless MR1308UAB features stereo Bluetooth, AM/FM, USB, SD Card slot, aux in, and 4x50-watt amp. The $121-suggested MR 1306UA offers the same features except for Bluetooth. They are expected to ship in late February.
With the marine launches, Boss Audio continues to offer 18 marine head units.
Under the Planet Audio brand, the company launched the $207-suggested BB1200.4 digital amplifier rated at 4x215 watts RMS into 2 ohms. It bridges to 2x600 watts and is expected to ship in late February.
Under the Sound Storm brand, the $479-suggested double-DIN multimedia/navigation unit features 6.2-inch widescreen touchscreen TFT display, voice guidance, stereo Bluetooth, MP3 and WMA playback, iPod/iPhone USB, SD Card slot, aux in, video output, rear-camera input, RDS tuner, 4x80-watt amp, steering-wheel interface, and maps of the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and Puerto Rico. It’s expected to ship in February.
