New York, N.Y. – Sirius Satellite Radio and BMW announced that BMW will offer Sirius car radios in select vehicles starting in the second quarter of 2002.
The radios will be available on certain BMW 3 Series, 5 Series and X5 vehicles and BMW dealers will also offer Sirius subscription service as part of the lease or purchase financing of a vehicle.
According to Sirius, a recent JD power study showed that, of all car owners surveyed, BMW owners were the most likely to be early adopters of satellite radio.
Sirius also has alliances to install radios in Ford, Chrysler, Mercedes, Jaguar, Volvo and Jeep vehicles.
