Best Buy Offering Free Smartphones

8/17/2011 11:43:48 AM Eastern

Minneapolis - Best
Buy is mounting another smartphone giveaway today.

The monthly one-day
event, which began with last year's "Free phone Fridays" promotion, provides
select handsets at no cost with a new or upgraded two-year subscription.

Today's offer,
good until 11:59 p.m. CST, includes the Motorola Atrix 4G for AT&T, the
Nexus S 4G from Google for Sprint, and Samsung's Fascinate smartphone for
Verizon.

Purchases and
activations can be made at Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile stores, and online at www.bestbuy.com.

"Our goal is to
make it as easy as possible to match people to the smartphone options that are
right for them, and we love being able to offer in-demand phones at a great
price -- free," said Scott Anderson, who heads Best Buy Mobile merchandising.
