BenQ Launches LCD Lineup

Dallas — BenQ used the Cyberathlete Professional League 2006 Championship held here earlier this week as a platform to launch a new LCD monitor lineup.

The contest, which ended Dec. 13, used BenQ’s already available FP93GX as the official LCD monitor used by the competitors and at the show the company unveiled the 24W-inch FP241VW, 24W-inch FP241VW Z, 22W-inch FP222WH and the 19W-inch FP94VW.

All four monitors share a widescreen aspect ratio, HDMI, HDCP, D-Sub and DVI-D, while the 24-inch models have S-Video, composite and component inputs. All are Vista ready.

The top-end FP241VW will carry a $1,499 suggested retail price and feature a 1,920 by 1,200 screen resolution, 6ms screen response time, 1000:1 contrast ratio and a silver and black chassis. The step-down FP241VW Z has the same features, but comes with a black chassis and a $1,299 suggested retail.

The FP222WH’s screen resolution is 1,680 by 1,050 and the monitor has a 6ms screen response rate, 700:1 contrast ratio and it will cost $549. The entry-level FP94VW, $299, has a 2ms response rate, 1,440 by 900 resolution and a 700:1 contrast ratio.

All models are now available through Ingram Micro distribution.
