Bearden, Iacoviello Receive New Responsibilities At Panasonic

Panasonic Consumer Electronics Company has tapped two veteran executives, David Bearden and John Iacoviello, for new sales and product marketing positions.

Described as being “part of a broad strategy designed to increase sales and optimize marketing and sales operations,” former regional sales group president David Bearden will now have the title of sales group president, where he will be responsible for strengthening Panasonic’s sales activity to the company’s channel partners across the United States.

Bearden takes on many of the duties of Fred Towns, former senior VP of sales and marketing, who has joined New Age Electronics as senior VP. (For more see TWICE People, p. 10.)

John Iacoviello, formerly product and marketing VP, has been appointed to the position of senior VP, product and marketing. In this role he will oversee marketing for all product categories within Panasonic Consumer Electronics Company.

“Panasonic is undergoing an organizational change to better position it for the future,” said Martin Kono, president, Panasonic Consumer Electronics Company, “and we’re looking to these two executives to help further strengthen sales relationships with our channel partners, and to lead the introduction of a steady stream of exciting products that will drive retailer and consumer interest.”

Bearden began his career in consumer electronics with Quasar Company in 1981 as planning and forecasting manager, joining Panasonic Company in April 1997 as VP/general manager of the central sales region. In 1999, he was named president of Panasonic Company Central, where he served until being named regional sales group president in 2004.

Iacoviello joined the company 18 years ago as a sales support representative, advancing through positions of increasing management responsibility up to his appointment as merchandising VP in July 2003.
