Baxter Gets Broader Role At Samsung

RIDGEFIELD PARK, N.J

. — Tim Baxter,
president of Samsung Electronics
America’s (SEA) consumer business
division, has been named president of
SEA sales, marketing and operations,
covering both the consumer and enterprise
business divisions.

 In this new position, which
Baxter began on Jan. 1, continues
to report to Y.K. Kim,
president/CEO of Samsung
Electronics North America.

 “Based on the success of
both our consumer and enterprise
businesses to date,
it is critical that we structure
our organization to continue
to drive future growth in both
of these important markets,”
said Kim. “Under Tim’s leadership,
these businesses will continue
to focus on the distinct characteristics
of each.”

Baxter and his current leadership team
will continue to drive the SEA consumer
business. The company is engaged in a
search for an executive to head the enterprise
business under Baxter.

In addition, Todd Bouman has been
promoted from director to
product marketing VP for the
SEA enterprise business division.

Bouman will also act as
interim sales VP for the division
as Samsung recruits an
executive for that role.

 As a part of Samsung
Electronics’ global organizational
changes, both Y.H.
Eom, current executive VP of
the SEA consumer business
division, and J.Y. Lew, current
president of the SEA enterprise business
division, will return to South Korea
to assume new leadership roles.
