Baker Named President Of Denon USA

Denon Electronics (USA) has named company and veteran Stephen Baker president, effective Oct. 1.

Baker replaces Hideo Kushida, and will report to Mr. Mitsushige Sakamoto, president/CEO of Denon Ltd. Kushida will assume a new position as senior advisor to Denon Electronics (USA) and as general manager in the Administration Division of Denon Ltd.

A 19-year veteran of Denon, Baker has served as the company’s senior VP of sales and marketing since 2002. As the company’s new top executive, Baker will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Denon’s operations in the United States and Latin America as it continues to strengthen its position as a premier manufacturer of home entertainment products.

Baker joined Denon in 1984 as Eastern regional sales manager, and subsequently held positions as national sales manager, sales director, and sales and marketing VP.

Long involved with the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), he has previously served as the chairman of the audio division and as a member of CEA’s executive board. He is currently a member of the CEA board of directors, the audio division board, and serves as the vice chairman of the Distributed Audio Alliance. He has also been a member of the Professional Audio/Video Retailers Association (PARA) manufacturer’s advisory committee.
