The N2700, $699, has a 12-inch LCD and is powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo T6400 2GHz processor. The unit uses the Microsoft Vista Home Premium operating system, has 4GB of DDR2 memory, a 250GB hard drive and an 8x super multi-DVD drive. There is also an integrated 1.3-megapixel Web cam.
In order to deliver a better-performing unit out of the box, Averatec limited the amount of pre-installed software, the company said.
Henry Hewitt, sales VP of Averatec, called the N2700 a “back to basics” notebook for the student/professional market.
