AudioXperts Korners New Speaker Niche

INDIANAPOLIS — AudioXperts, the start-up luxury brand founded by industry veteran Eli Harary, is launching the first products in its Korners series of component home speakers, which join the company’s docking tabletop audio products and tabletop TV-audio platforms with swiveling base.

The initial Korners speakers include a slim 3-inch-wide wedge-shaped two-way L/C/R speaker that mounts horizontally on the wall above or below a TV and vertically in the four corners of a room to deliver surround sound. It also fits anywhere a wall meets the ceiling or floor.

A wireless-ready subwoofer is designed for placement on the floor in a corner or against a wall. A second more powerful subwoofer is in the works.

The L/C/R and compact sub will ship in late fall, with the second sub due sometime later in the year. Pricing hasn’t been announced

The Korners series is targeted to “design-minded homeowners who demand that their speakers blend into the surrounding décor without sacrificing performance,” the company said. Korners “delivers a difficult-to-achieve concept: unobtrusive ultra-slim form factor and wide-dispersion high-performance audio reproduction,” president Eli Harary added. The speakers blend into any living space and will be available in black, silver, and a paint-ready satin white, he noted.

The L/C/R comes with two grilles. The 68-inch grille is designed for vertical mounting in corners, raising the tweeter to an optimal height for stereo imaging, the company said. The 55-inch grille is designed for horizontal center-channel placement above or below a TV.

The 3-inch-wide extruded-aluminum cabinets feature 1.25-inch soft-dome tweeter, six 2-inch fibercone woofers, and eight 2-inch passive radiators. For on-wall placement, the speaker comes with integrated wall brackets, wire channel, and five-way binding posts. An optional floor stand is also available. Frequency response is 90Hz to 25kHz.

The speaker’s dimensions with grille for vertical mounting are 66.5 inches by 3.5 inches by 2.25 inches. Dimensions for horizontal center-channel use are 3.5 inches by 56.1 inches by 2.25 inches.

To extend bass response, the company will show the Korners Kompact Sub, a 100-watt powered subwoofer that can be positioned in a corner or against a wall. It’s shaped like a cheese wedge whose back and bottom are angled 90 degrees from each other, with a curved surface facing listeners. A wireless transmitter is optional.
