AudioControl Readies Car DSP Processor

Seattle – Car audio supplier AudioControl will go to International CES with its next-generation six-channel car DSP processor, the $399-suggested DQDX.

The DQDZ will be the company’s second car signal processor with signal delay to align a person’s soundstage position between the left and right speakers and to time-align the speakers with subwoofers. The first such processor was the $399-suggested DQ-61, launched last year to upgrade factory sound systems.

The DQDX, designed for use with aftermarket car audio systems, will be available in February.

The DQDX features 21 discrete bands of equalization, 24dB Linkwitz-Riley selectable crossover to choose a crossover frequency between 50Hz and 500Hz, and high-voltage line driver up to 8 volts. It also offers individual equalization controls for the front, rear and subwoofer channels.

Other features include six-channel balanced differential preamp inputs, six-channel preamp outputs, and RCA output to amplifiers. A dash-mountable control knob adjusts the speaker delay and the subwoofer level.

It’s available in black or blue.
