Audio-Technica Unveils Flagship NC Headphones

Stow, Ohio – Audio-Technica
took the wraps off its new top-of-the-line active noise-canceling headphones,
model ATH-ANC9 QuietPoint.

The headphones feature
the company’s Tri-level Cancellation technology, which provides three preset
filters for noise reduction of up to 30 dB. Mode 1, which applies the maximum
noise cancellation, is designed for use on airplanes, while Mode 2 targets
midrange frequencies and is geared toward noisy offices. Mode 3 is best for
already-quiet locations like libraries, the company said.

The headphones will
still operate in passive mode when the noise cancellation is turned off.

The ATH-ANC9 also have
an Apple-supported in-line omni-directional mic and controller, a first for the
company’s over-ear QuietPoint models. Two cables are offered: one with the mic
and controls and one without.

Other features include
40mm drivers, sensitivity of 100 dB, memory-foam ear pads and a fold-flat
design. Frequency range is listed at 10Hz to 25kHz.

Suggested retail is
$349.
