Atlantic Expands IP-Ready Speaker Selection

2/03/2010 01:21:48 PM Eastern

Norwood, Mass. - Atlantic Technology has expanded its
selection of custom-installed Internet Protocol (IP)-ready speakers.

The speakers can be connected to IP-based multiroom-audio
systems, such as those from NetStreams, or via traditional speaker cable to
conventional multiroom-audio systems.

The new model, the round ICTS-6.1-IP is more modestly priced at a
suggested $125 each compared to the other IP models. It's shipping with
6.5-inch woofer and pivoting 1-inch tweeter.

Atlantic's current models are the IWTS-4 LCR-IP, IWTS-7 LCR-IP
and IWTS-14 LCR-IP at suggested retails, of $250, $385 and $515 each,
respectively, with grilles and frames.

IP-based distributed-audio systems send control signals and
content over CAT-5 Ethernet wiring to simplify wiring and eliminate signal
loss. In an IP-based system, Atlantic's
IP-ready speakers would connect to an amp/DSP/IP module behind the wall.
