Apple Ships 500K iPads

Cupertino, Calif. – Citing lack of supply, Apple said today it
will delay the international launch of the iPad by one month, to late May.

Apple reported it has shipped 500,000 iPads during the device’s
first week of availability and that the company does not expect to catch up
with demand for several weeks. Adding to the supply strain is the high number
of pre-orders for the 3G version that will hit stores at the end of April.

Apple will announce
pricing and begin taking pre-orders for international sales on May 10.
