American Telecom Services Expands Distribution

City of Industry, Calif. — American Telecom Services (ATS) will expand the distribution of its DECT-based cordless phones bundled with VoIP service and models bundled with landline minutes in several retail accounts, the company said.

The firm’s X10001P Digital Clear Internet phones will be launched by Fry’s and Wal-Mart.com during the fall. The DECT-based cordless phone is programmed to work on Lingo’s VoIP network. The unit’s base station plugs directly into a broadband modem or router and supports up to four additional handsets (the X10002 for a suggested $29.99).

The $49.99 phone features caller ID/call waiting, speakerphone, key lock, nine ringtones, handset-to-handset intercom and an additional telephone jack for tying in a fax machine.

The firm has also begun shipping a DECT-based cordless to Walgreens. The RA222304H is bundled with 100 free minutes of long-distance service. Consumers can refresh the minutes by using a dedicated green button on the handset.

The phone features caller ID, a 40 number phonebook, 12 ringtones and handset speakerphone.
