AECC Spotlights In-Vehicle CE At CES

The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) reported that during International CES, the Automotive Electronics Connectivity Committee (AECC) had on display a 2009 Jeep Rubicon — courtesy of American Expedition Vehicles (Royal Oak, Mich.) — featuring a full range of in-vehicle connectivity and infotainment devices.

CEA reported that the equipment was installed “by some of the best MECP-certified installation techs in the business from InstallerNet, who went above and beyond to turn this car into reality.”

CEA said the high level of integration on display in this vehicle was made possible by the continued cooperation and participation of vehicle manufacturers and electronics makers.

Products/companies in the car at CES included: Kicker MOPAR audio upgrade with amplifier and subwoofer; FLIR night vision camera; Nav-TV FLIR night vision camera controller upgrade; Nav-TV Chrysler MyGig OEM integration module with audio/visual input harness; AAT/Comx OBDII remote diagnostic and monitoring system; Audiovox headrest system with DVD players; Advent overhead video system; Advent FLO-TV tuner; Alpine DCS-BT1 Bluetooth Speaker; Verizon Droid with car dock and vehicle rapid charger; Sprint Moment; Sprint MiFi; and XM SkyDock.

The Automotive Electronics Connectivity Committee (AECC) is a joint effort among the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), Specialty Equipment Manufacturers’ Association (SEMA), the Mobile Electronics Retailers Association (MERA) and the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA).
