Adobe Unveils Photoshop, Premiere Elements 10

9/20/2011 09:53:47 AM Eastern

San Jose, Calif. -
Adobe Systems introduced today the Photoshop Elements 10 and Premiere Elements
10 bundled suite of photo- and video-editing tools for Windows and Mac users.

The next-generation
versions of Adobe's top-selling consumer photo- and video-editing programs are
also available as separate SKUs.

They are currently
available online directly through the Adobe website or soon through leading
photo and video imaging software retailers.

"The Photoshop
Elements 10 and Adobe Premiere Elements 10 bundle brings together all the
functionality people need to easily create, perfect and share both photo and
video memories," said Winston Hendrickson, Adobe digital imaging products VP.
"The new features expand the creative possibilities with photos and videos. And
now, more than ever, people who capture photos are experimenting with video, so
we're offering new tools and technology that bring video editing to
photographers in a way that is natural and easy for them."

Photoshop Elements
10 features enhanced content-intelligent tools using the same engine as the
professionally focused Adobe Photoshop software.

New guided edits, including
Depth of Field and Picture Stack, provide step-by-step guidance in photo
creation. The program also enables tagging photos based on Facebook Friends lists.

Other features
include the ability to add text that automatically follows the outline of a
subject or a custom path and crop guides for the best compositions. Thirty new
Smart Brush effects have also been added.

Adobe Premiere
Elements 10 now includes support for Windows 7 64-ibt systems and has been
improved for simplicity of use with the addition of one-click tools to quickly correct
and enhance images for visual clarity and improved color throughout the movie.
Also added is a new InstantMovie themes function that intelligently builds
movies in seconds.

Enhanced pan and
zoom functions with automated options have also been included.

A media organizer
unites the work of the two tools with the ability to easily organize and manage
files using a new Object Search function that helps to locate images based on what
is in them. Users need only draw a box around an object -- from a landmark to a
pet -- to find other photos and videos including it.

Another function
enables quickly finding duplicate photos to reduce clutter.

Photoshop Elements
10 and Adobe Premiere Elements 10 users can also purchase Adobe's integrated
online services Elements Plus, which includes 20GB of storage for automatic
online backup and sharing (up to 15,000 photos or four hours of DVD-quality
video), as well as access to an extensive library of how-to guides, artwork,
templates, movie themes and effects.

For mobile
applications, Photoshop Elements 10 and Adobe Premiere Elements 10 let users
share creations directly from within the Elements Organizer and view them via
social networking apps.

Photoshop Elements
10 also enables developers to create tablet and mobile applications that
interact with the software via the included API, opening the possibilities for
interactivity between touch devices and Photoshop Elements.

The Adobe
Photoshop Elements 10 and Adobe Premiere Elements 10 bundle is available now
for a $150 suggested retail. New upgrade pricing allows past Photoshop Elements
and Premiere Element bundle users of any version of the Photoshop Elements and
Adobe Premiere Elements bundle to purchase the upgrade for $120. A subscription
to Photoshop Elements 10 and Adobe Premiere Elements 10 Plus is available in
the U.S. from within the product for $50 a year.

Purchased
separately, Adobe Premiere Elements 10 or Photoshop Elements 10 for Windows and
Mac have suggested retails of $100 each. Those wishing to upgrade can purchase either
program for $80.
