NEW YORK — The Anti-Defamation League’s national
consumer technology industry group honored Karen
Chupka of the Consumer Electronics Association
(CEA), Babak Ghaznavi of Paul’s TV The King Of Big
Screen, and Mindy Grossman of the Home Shopping
Network (HSN) at its annual tribute and dinner dance
on Saturday, Oct. 22.
The black tie event was held at Cipriani 42nd Street
for the first time — across the street from the Grand
Hyatt Hotel, the usual site for the dinner.
CEA president/CEO Gary Shapiro presented Chupka,
CEA’s events and conferences senior VP, with
the group’s Torch of Liberty award; Tim Baxter, president
of Samsung’s CE division, presented Ghaznavi,
president/CEO of Paul’s TV, with the American Heritage
Award; and Matthew Rubel, senior advisor to
TPG Capital, presented Mindy Grossman, CEO of
HSN, the Patricia Rienzi Legacy Award.
