3G iPads Go On Sale April 30 In U.S.

Cupertino,
Calif. – The WiFi + 3G versions of the

Apple
iPad

will go on sale in Apple stores, Best Buy stores and other outlets on
April 30, meeting Apple’s previously announced late-April timetable.

Consumers
who preordered on Apple’s website between March 12 and April 18 will get their
models delivered on April 30. Consumers who have ordered after those dates will
get their orders shipped by May 7, Apple said.

In Apple
stores, 3G iPad sales will begin at 5p.m. on April 30. Information on when
sales will begin in Best Buy stores on that day was unavailable.

Outside
the U.S., iPads will be
available at the end of May in Australia,
Canada, France, Germany,
Italy, Japan, Spain,
Switzerland
and the U.K. Apple said it will announce international pricing and take online
pre-orders on May 10.

The Wi-Fi
versions of the iPad are available in the U.S. at suggested retails of $499
for the 16GB version, $599 for 32GB and $699 for 64GB. The Wi-Fi + 3G models
will retail for a suggested $629 for the 16GB version, $729 for 32GB and $829
for 64GB.

In
the U.S.,
the iPad is sold through Apple’s online store, Apple’s retail stores, most Best
Buy stores, select Apple authorized resellers and campus bookstores. Prepaid
cellular data service is provided by AT&T, which offers on-device
activation and management.
