San Jose, Calif. - Netgear has released a new media players into its Netgear AV Series.

The NeoTV 550 Ultimate HD medial player will ship in October with a $129 suggested retail price.

The 550 connects an HDTV to all the content available on a home network's various components allowing music, video and photos to be played through the TV.

The 550 also has a built-in SD card slot and an E-Sata port for faster transfer speeds from external devices like Blu-ray and external hard drives.
