San Jose, Calif. - Netgear will ship its new Stora network-attached storage (NAS) device in late September

The $229 MS2110 Stora is a 1TB NAS device that is optimized for storing and managing media content for the average non-technically savvy home owner, the company said.

The user interface makes it simple to share photos and video over the Internet without having to upload them to a third-party site, said Drew Meyer, Netgear's marketing director.

The Stora comes with one empty drive bay, allowing the user to expand its capacity by adding an off-the-shelf hard drive.
