Fair Lawn, N.J. — Maxell announced it is re-entering the battery market after a three-year hiatus.
The company will introduce a line of alkaline batteries, what the company described as returning to its roots.
We are very excited about the opportunities that our battery lineup brings to the market” said Armando Silva, product manager for Maxell’s consumer battery category. “Our product assortment appeals to both consumers and retailers alike. Consumers will be attracted to the wide range of pack sizes designed to fit their lifestyle and budget, while retailers will be pleased with an assortment configured to enhance any planogram.”
Maxell said it plans to begin shipping the line in April. TWICE’s attempt to contact the company regarding specific SKU information and pricing was not returned as of this posting.
The company added that it plans to expand the battery offerings later this year, with a line of environmentally friendly rechargeable batteries.
In a trivia note, the company noted that “Maxell” was derived from the words “maximum capacity dry cell,” and batteries were the first products they introduced into the U.S. market more than 40 years ago.
