Fremont, Calif. - A new iPod/iPhone-docking AC/DC speaker system due this month from Logitech at a suggested $149 features two-way active speaker system and four passive radiators.

S715iThe S715i, which replaces an AC/DC model, operates for up to eight hours on its rechargeable NiMH battery. The dock is certified as Made for iPod and Works with iPhone, and it features a 3.5mm audio input to connect other-brand MP3 players and cellphones.

The portable system, designed for easy carrying, ships with a travel case.

The two-way speaker system consists of two 3-inch neodymium-magnet woofers and two half-inch neodymium tweeters. Bass response is boosted through two back-firing and two front-firing 2-inch passive radiators.

The included remote controls iPod menus as well as such functions as power, volume, play, pause, shuffle, skip and repeat from up to 30 feet away.
