Research Triangle Park, N.C. - Lenovo today expanded the scope of its product line to include a home server and a home-theater PC.

Also being released are two slim-line desktops, dubbed nettops by Lenovo.

The Q100

The IdeaCentre 400 home server will come in two configurations, 1TB and 2TB, with the base model carrying a $499 price tag. The server is expandable to 8TB using any third-party hard drive. It will be available at www.lenovo.com in mid-September.

The IdeaCentre Q700 is a build-to-order desktop configured to be used as the hub of a home-theater system. It features an HDMI connector, DVD-RW drive, and can output 1,920 by 1,080 video along with 7.1-channel surround sound. Pricing depends upon the configuration.

The Q700 can be equipped with:

* up to 4GB DDR2 667 MHz;

* Up to 4TB of storage; and

* optional ATSC tuner

The two IdeaCentre nettops, the Q100 and Q110, each measure less then 1 inch thick and with their Intel Atom processors are intended to deliver basic computing as a secondary or tertiary PC for the home.

The Q100 has 1GB of memory, a 160GB hard drive, Intel integrated graphics, ION 1,980 by 1,080 high-definition video and built in Wi-Fi. The Q110 steps up to 2GB of memory and a 250GB hard drive. Neither model comes with a mouse or keyboard.

The Q100 and Q110 will be available through Lenovo in mid-September with respective prices of $249 and $349.
