Microsoft Intros Surface Laptop, Windows 10 S

While the Surface was initially positioned as the tablet eliminating the need for a laptop, Microsoft has indeed launched a Surface Laptop.

This version is primarily geared toward the education market, and consumers who purchase a Surface Laptop will have the option to use a free version of Windows 10 Pro with the Surface Laptop through the end of the year.

The Surface Laptop, which measures 12.13 by 8.79 by 0.57 inches, features a 13.5-inch PixelSense display with 2,256 by 1,503 (201 ppi) resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It will be offered with 4GB, 8GB or of 16GB RAM and 128GB, 256GB or 512GB solid-state drives.

Other specs include:

*14.5 hours of battery life;
*keyboard covered in Alcantara, a fabric that can be wiped clean;
*trackpad;
*Dolby speakers;
*720p front-facing camera;
*USB 3.0;
*Mini DisplayPort;
*Wi-Fi 802.11ac; and
