HP Unveils Business Use PC Lines

Palo Alto, Calif. — Hewlett-Packard introduced Wednesday a collection of PCs targeting business users.

One of the highlights of the new offerings is the HP Pro x2 612 hybrid notebook, which ships in September at a price be announced. It features a detachable tablet screen that enables it to serve dual duty for light casual use or more heavy-duty work assignments, HP said.

The HP Pro x2 612 offers a 12.5-inch FullHD resolution display, and the option of either Intel Core i3 or i5 CPUs. In addition, a power keyboard with its own battery offers up to 14 hours of use with both batteries combined.

Provided ports include USB 3.0, DisplayPort, VGA and RJ-45. A special connector is also included for an HP UltraSlim dock.

HP also offers to configure the package with a soft ultra-mobile backlit keyboard with a single USB 3.0 port, combo audio jack and the power port, as well as a Wacom pen with an integrated holder direct for hand input, an LTE modem and a pair of HD webcams.

Alternatively, HP introduced an expanded lineup of affordable-priced Elite 700 series desktop and laptop PCs, targeting small- and medium-business users.

The systems are offered with a choice CPUs including AMD A-series Pro APU systems or Intel Haswell systems with either Core i3 or Core i5 processors.

Portable units based on AMD CPUs include an EliteBook 725 12.5-inch notebook, a 14-inch EliteBook 745 and the 15.6-inch EliteBook 755.

Intel models include the EliteBook 720, with long battery life, the EliteBook 740 Ultrabook and the EliteBook 750 15-inch Ultrabook.

Similarly, new desktop models are offered in a choice of AMD and Intel options. These include the AMD-based EliteOne 700 all-in-one featuring a 23-inch display and the EliteDesk 700, offered in either desktop mini, microtower or small form factor cases.

Intel desktops include the EliteDesk 700 in microtower and small form factor configurations.

The EliteBook 720, 740 and 750 will be available starting in August; the EliteBook 725, 745 and 755 will be available this month (prices start at $799, $739 and $749, respectively); the EliteOne 700 and EliteDesk 700 will be available in September; the EliteDesk 700 micro/SFF with AMD CPus will be available in July; and the EliteDesk 700/SFF with Intel CPUs will be available in November.

Prices not listed will be announced closer to launch dates.
