Las Vegas — Klegg Electronics, a supplier of IT-centric consumer electronics products, said it has expanded its distribution base with a number of new Internet-based retailer partners including Newegg.com, eCost.com and Buy.com.

Newegg.com is known as an e-tailer used by manufacturers of computer hardware and software, consumer electronics and communications products to reach the do-it-yourselfers, hardcore gamers, students, small to medium-sized businesses, IT professionals, resellers and consumers.

Since its inception in 2001, Newegg.com has registered more than 5.5 million customers.

eCost.com has positioned itself as an “online discount superstore,” specializing in computer hardware, software, peripherals and other consumer products.

Buy.com is known as an “Internet superstore” that offers more than 2 million products in categories ranging from computer hardware and software to electronics, cellular, books, movies, music, sporting goods and more.

All three online vendors will soon promote Klegg’s Genesis line of convergence and portable electronics along with other online vendors such as Amazon.com and PCMall.com.

Klegg said some products will begin to appear online and become available for purchase beginning in late May. Additional products will become available as they are shipped to distributors over the next four to eight weeks.

The flagship product in the Genesis line is a high-definition television with a fully functional built-in Windows Vista computer. A wireless keyboard is included, so the unit functions s both an HDTV and a computer.

The Genesis line also includes the Klegg Mini MP3 player sold as a stand-alone that is less expensive than the iPod and a GPS system that is also lower priced than competitive models, according to Klegg.

“We expect our online sales to be one quarter of our entire 2007 sales revenue,” said Dennis Gentles, Klegg’s CEO. “Our online vendor partners are strong companies which have a loyal following, and our products are precisely what the market has been looking for: breakthrough technology at a lower cost.”
