Steel Yourself: Maytag’s Newest Fridge Built For Ruggedness

Benton Harbor, Mich. — Maytag has put solid steel shelves in its newest four-door French refrigerator, meant to hold up to frequent usage from families.

The design was inspired by commercial appliances, said Brendan Bosch, Maytag senior brand manager, noting that consumers are increasingly interested in this style. “The adjustable steel shelves in this refrigerator add style, but more importantly, reliable, sturdy and better built features,” he added.

The shelves have built-in LED lighting.

Aimed at consumers who like to dawdle in front of an open fridge while selecting a snack, the PowerCold feature will rapidly chill the refrigerator down to the optimal temperature with the touch of a button. Dual Cool Evaporators, meanwhile, are designed to generate ideal humidity levels in each compartment. The drawers also have their own adjustable temperature settings, and a clear EasySlide drawer is strategically placed for “grab-and-go” items.

This model has 26 cubic feet of space, giving it the largest capacity of any other four-door Maytag model. It comes in black, white or stainless-steel finishes with a starting suggested retail of $3,399.
