LG’s New QuadWash Dishwashers Come Well Armed

Extra set of spray arms adds a new spin to dishwashing 7/12/2017 11:30:00 AM Eastern

LG Electronics USA is forearming its new 14-model line of QuadWash dishwashers with four spray arms.

By doubling up on the traditional two-arm design, and giving the second set a bi-directional spin, dishes have a better shot at getting clean the first time through the cycle.

“Our research shows that many consumers pre-wash their dishes or  re-wash their dishes by hand after they’ve been run through the dishwasher – wasting valuable time, water and energy,” said LG marketing VP David VanderWaal.

The new approach tackles the problem with an extra pair of spray arms that rotate back and forth while spinning to reach dishes, glassware, flatware and cookware with high-pressure jets “from just about every angle,” LG said (see video, below).

The QuadWash series also features an adjustable upper-rack height to accommodate larger loads; dual-zone technology that adjusts water intensity by rack; quiet 40dB operation; and Wi-Fi connectivity through LG’s Smart ThinQ app to monitor operation, download upgraded cycles, troubleshoot problems and run the machines when electricity rates are lowest.

QuadWash is rolling out to retailers now with four models in black, white, stainless and black stainless, for a total of 14 variants. They include:

* front control with pocket handle (model LDF5545ST): MSRP $699;

* top control (model LDT5665): MSRP $799;

* top control with pocket handle (model LDP6797): MSRP $899; and

* top control (model LDT7797): MSRP $999.
