Tokyo, Japan — JVC’s professional products unit introduced here Tuesday a 46-inch full HD 3-D LCD monitor.

The GD-463D10 is slated for release in July (pricing was not available) and features 1.5 inches (39mm) thin panel depth and JVC’s high-quality 3-D visual engine to deliver reduce image flicker.

JVC, which is scheduled to demonstrate the display at the upcoming NAB Show, said it plans to produce 2,000 units a year for the global market. No pricing was announced.

For 3-D images, JVC said the unit uses its Xpol polarizing filter method and battery-free passive-type circular polarizing filter glasses to produce 3-D images. Video input is compatible with industry standard line-by-line and side-by-side 3-D formats. JVC’s proprietary 3-D decoder circuit translates images into the optimal Xpol display format and demonstrates the ability to accommodate subtle gradations and shades of color.

The GD-463D10 is said to be compatible with the industry standard line-by-line and side-by-side 3-D video formats.
