New York — J&R Music & Computer World will hold its annual MusicFest & Tech Expo in Manhattan’s City Hall Park in August.
The lineup includes free live concerts by recording artists Solange and Michelle Williams of Destiny’s Child on Aug. 21; Aaron Parks and Esperantza Spalding on Aug. 22; and Jo De La Rosa, Naturally 7 and Ashanti on Aug. 23.
Actor Terrance Howard will also be on hand for the festivities on Aug. 21.
J&R’s block-long array of storefronts is located across the street from City Hall. Former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani formally reopened the independent A/V specialty store following 9/11, and current Mayor Michael Bloomberg visited J&R last month to kick off a CEA-sponsored bus tour promoting free trade.
