Sling Upgrades Interface For Easier Content Search

Sling TV launched several new user interface improvements to make content discovery on the service easier.

The updates begin rolling out to Android users today, and will be rolling out to additional devices soon thereafter.

The new features include:

* A traditional grid guide option to allow viewers to quickly browse what’s on now, filter channels by genre and see the upcoming schedule of every channel in one glance;

* New “Featured” content ribbons to MyTV, starting with “Featured Movies” and “Featured Shows,” to make it easier to curate the company’s library of on-demand content;

* What’s Hot Now, which improves upon the service’s On Now feature by showing the most popular events and shows first, thanks to added intelligence to Sling’s live content sorting system for one-click access, and ;

* A new Shows screen dedicated to TV series, which sorts by genres such as drama, lifestyle, comedy, crime, sci-fi, action or kids. Sling features more than 31,000 episodes of on-demand shows.
