The program, which allows member dealers to purchase mixed-freight shipments of a wide variety of A/V brands at competitive prices, had previously been operated by Archbrook Laguna, the West Coast distributor that held an ownership position in Expert Warehouse.
In making the change, the buying group cited Ingram Micro's "greater operational efficiencies and logistics expertise," as well as increased warehouse inventory levels, greater expansion in new and existing categories, and competitive pricing.
"This new alliance with Ingram Micro allows us to greatly improve the business value, buying power and services we provide to our members and increase their ability to compete in the marketplace," said BrandSource CEO Bob Lawrence. "Together with Ingram Micro we will pioneer a new era of efficiency and value for the appliance and CE industries and bring to market a broader portfolio of brand names."
Ingram Micro has 100 warehouses and 185,000 customers across the globe, and provides CE to North American clients through its consumer electronics division, built upon its AVAD and DBL acquisitions.
