Hewlett-Packard today rolled out the Pavillion DM1 ultraportable laptop.
The DM1 weighs about 3.5
pounds, is less than an inch thick, and will come in an Intel- and an AMD-powered
The AMD version will use
an E-series accelerated processing unit and will have a $399 suggested retail.
It will become available on Sept. 21.
The Intel model will be
powered by an Intel second-generation Core processor. It will ship on Oct. 30
and will be bundled with an external optical drive and carry a $599 suggested
Both versions will
initially come in charcoal, but later this fall a black version will come
online with the Intel processor.
Other features include an
11.6-inch display, 11.5-hour battery life, and a variety of memory and storage
