TiO Updates Wireless Home Automation System

Melbourne, Fla. – Wireless home-automation supplier Anuva Automation has updated the OS for its TiO (Turn it On) wireless home-control system and unveiled a new wireless controller that runs it.

The controller is the Master Coordinator MC2, which is available and adds bigger processor, more memory, faster speed and greater wireless range. The Version 2.0 OS adds integration with Nest thermostats, delivers longer range to 500 feet from 450 feet, improves Bluetooth performance, and offers TiO Pro login updates. Integration with Aprilaire and Honeywell will follow soon, a spokesperson said.

TiO’s wireless multizone audio and wireless home-control system uses Wi-Fi for wireless control of light switches, dimmers, thermostats and wireless audio-zone players from in-wall Wi-Fi touchscreens and from iOS and Android smartphones and tablets. The zone players incorporate networked streaming and amplifiers. Two zone players install in the wall and feature integrated touchscreen for control. Another player lacks its own touchscreen and is designed to be hidden away.

All of the products communicate via the MasterCoordinator, which is a Wi-Fi access point that creates a subnetwork for TiO systems. The MasterCoordinator also backs up and restores TiO system settings.

Currently deployed TiO systems using an MC1 MasterCoordinator will not be able to take advantage of the 2.0 update. TiO will announce a swap program for MC1 owners who want to upgrade to the MC2.

System setup is accomplished through Android tablets.
