Indianapolis - hhgregg has opened five more locations, bringing its store count to 208 boxes in 16 states.

The new additions are in Chicago, where it opened two stores for a market total of 16; South Florida, where it opened one new store in Homestead for a market total of 11 and a statewide total of 34; and Ohio, where the latest addition, in St. Clairsville, brings the statewide total to 32.

In prepared statements, marketing senior VP Jeff Pearson said the chain is "pleased by the reception" it has received in the Chicago market, which it first entered in September, reconfirmed its commitment to Florida, and noted, "Ohio is a very important state for hhgregg and a key part of our Midwest expansion."
