Updated! After suspending operations, SMS Audio’s website is back up and accepting orders.
The website is selling a select number of headphones. All sales are marked as final and cannot be returned or exchanged, and the products don’t carry their previous Street by 50 or Sync by 50 sub-brands, instead featuring such generic names as on-ear wired and in-ear wireless.
SMS’s phone lines are still not accepting voicemails, and the company has not responded to TWICE’s emailed requests for comment. The audio vendor was founded by rapper Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, who was forced to declare bankruptcy last year.
Update: A representative of G-Unit, the successor of SMS Audio, confirmed to TWICE: “SMS Audio has discontinued its branded product line and has closed down this division.”
