Stamford, Conn. - Harman International Industries today announced availability of the JBL On Tour iBT, a battery-powered portable Bluetooth speaker, for $199. 

The speaker weighs slightly more than a pound and is sized to fit in a backpack or purse. A tabletop stand is included to display an iPad in portrait or landscape mode.

Features include four Odyssey full-range neodymium transducers with computer-optimized DSP (digital signal processing) equalization, Harman said. It works with the A2DP and AVRCP Bluetooth profiles, and supports the AC Apple codecs.

The JBL On Tour iBT, which is powered by four AA batteries or an AC adapter, also has a built-in microphone for use as a speakerphone for conference calls or video chats. It charges the iPad, iPhone, or iPod through a built-in USB socket.
