Irvine, Calif. - Gateway today
introduced and began shipping revamped versions of its ID and NV series of
notebook computers.
The 4.6-pound Gateway
ID47H02u, $699 features a 2.3GHz Intel Core i5-2410M processor with Turbo
Boost, a 14-inch HD LED backlit display, Intel HM55 Express chipset, 4GB of
DDR3 memory, 500GB hard drive, Wi-Fi, 8x DVD Super Multi double-layer drive,
1.3-megapixel camera, and one USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0 ports.
Other features include a
multi-gesture touchpad, dedicated audio control keys, social-networking keys to
launch directly to such sites, eight hours of battery life and Microsoft Office
Starter 2010.
The unit is available in
Infinity Blue Liquid and Brushed Aluminum color schemes.
The new $629 NV model is the NV5505u. It is geared toward general
entertainment usage. It is powered by an AMD quad-core A8-3500M processor rated
at 1.5GHZ. The processor includes AMD's TurboCore technology that can boost its
speed to 2.4GHz, Gateway said. It weighs in at 5.7 pounds.
The LED backlit screen is 15.6 inches, and the graphics are
powered by an AMD Radeon HD 6620G graphics card. Other specs include 6GB of
DDR3 memory, a 640GB hard drive and an 8x
DVD Super Multi double-layer drive.
The remaining features
are the same as supplied in the ID model.
