Irvine, Calif. - Gateway today introduced its first notebook
featuring built-in WiMAX capability.
The NV59C66u, shipping now at $699, uses Intel's Centrino 6250
Advanced N+WiMAX wireless card for mobile Internet access.
The NV59C66u is part of a larger roll out by Gateway of its NV
notebook series. These models, starting at $479 will become available in the
coming weeks, the company said.
The NV series will be available in several configurations,
including models featuring 15.6- and 17.1-inch LED backlit displays, DVD or
Blu-ray drives. Processors expected to be available are Intel's Core i3 and i5
along with AMD's Athlon and Turion. Hard drives will range in size from 320GB
to 500GB and up to 4GB of installed DDR3 memory, expandable to 8GB, will be
