Target Revenue Increases 11.5%
Minneapolis — Fiscal fourth-quarter revenue at Target climbed 11.5 percent, hitting nearly $17 billion, up from $15.2 billion in the same period the prior year, while comp-store sales rose 4.2 percent.
Delray Beach, Fla. — Office Depot enjoyed continued strength in its North American retail division during the fourth quarter, with sales climbing 15 percent, to $1.7 billion, up from $1.5 billion in the year-ago three months, while comp-store sale jumped 5 percent.
Red Rock, Texas — Dell posted a very hefty $15.2 billion in revenue and $1 billion in net income for its fiscal fourth quarter, with sales of notebook computers, storage devices and services driving the company’s performance.
Palo Alto, Calif. — Personal systems group sales at Hewlett-Packard increased 8 percent in the company’s fiscal first quarter, reaching $7.4 billion, up from $6.9 billion in the year-ago three months.
Indianapolis — The addition of eight new stores during the past 12 months, as well as rise in comp-store sales, elevated fiscal third-quarter revenue at Gregg Appliances 10.6 percent, hitting $281.2 million, up from a year-ago $254.2 million.
Stockholm, Sweden — A strong fourth quarter for major appliances in North America — bolstered by price increases, good volume and the support of a number of new product launches in the Americas markets — lifted consolidated sales at Elecrolux by 17.6 percent, to $4.3 billion, up from a year-ago $3.6 billion.
Hauppauge, N.Y. — Audiovox recorded a 5 percent increase in its fiscal fourth quarter consolidated sales, rising to $156.3 million, from $148.8 million in the year-ago period.
