Said to be designed "a bit like a laptop," the $349 S3 features an OLED display, all-band protection and 360-degree radar/laser detection. Its battery life is reportedly extended by a power-management system that has the option of turning off the unit while unattended.

The S3 is compatible with the company's SmartCord, which extends the controls, lights and display of Escort's windshield-mount detectors so they are closer to the driver.
