Dallas — Memory maker Edge Tech announced it has begun shipping a new flash-card reader that doubles as a dock for an iPod.

The dock allows users to transfer files from memory cards while simultaneously charging an iPod or syncing it with a computer.

The device accepts SD/MMC; Memory Stick (PRO, Duo); SmartMedia; CompactFlash Type I and II; MicroDrive; and the xD-Picture Card formats and the various iterations of the iPod, including the nano, mini, Photo and original iPod.

The Edge dock and multi flash-card reader will retail for a suggested $49.95.
