West Covina, Calif. - E Fun expanded its Premium series of Nextbook tablets with the shipment of the top-end Nextbook Premium 8, a $299-suggested tablet that increases touchscreen size to 8 inches and adds s front-facing camera.

 Like the $249-suggested Nextbook Premium 7 with 7-inch touchscreen, the new model is powered by the Android 2.3 OS and features capacitive touchscreen, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, included 4GB MicroSD memory card, and a MicroSD/MMC memory card slot able to accept 32GB cards. The new model adds an 8-inch screen size, 2-megapixel front-facing camera and over-the-air upgrade capability. Other features include a mini USB port, a 1080p video player, built-in speakers and four-way gravity sensor.

 Other Premium 8 features include access to thousands of free downloadable apps, but not through the Android Market, 25 free preloaded eBooks, and 800 by 480 TFT LCD display.

 With the Premium 8 launch, three of the company's six Nextbook tablets feature capacitive touchscreen; the others feature resistive touchscreens. Prices start at a suggested $149 for a 7-inch model.

The Premium 8 was launched at HSN today at a special price of $199.
