Clearwater, Fla. – Global IT distributor Tech Data has introduced a warranty tool that allows its Apple authorized resellers to activate AppleCare Protection Plans at the time of purchase.
The new warranty tool, called TDWarranty, “provides a seamless process for our solution providers when adding protection plans to their Apple purchases,” said Greg Parsonson, Tech Data’s product marketing and client systems VP. “By adding a simplified way to purchase AppleCare Protection Plans, solution providers can offer their customers an accurate, dependable, and cost-effective way to protect their Apple products.”
TDWarranty streamlines the process by incorporating automated, real-time activation, working in tandem with Apple to check serial numbers, hardware and warranty registration to ensure greater accuracy. Customers can now ship Macs or iPads from Tech Data directly to the end user, with Tech Data providing coverage through purchase of the protection plan. Retail partners can also sell the AppleCare products at point of sale (POS) to end users via www.techdata.com or by loading Tech Data XML into their POS system. The proof of coverage will then be sent to the end user within 24 hours.
