D&H Expands Fitness Offering

Harrisburg, Pa. – National IT and CE distributor D&H Distributing has added a standing desk line to its assortment of ergonomically-designed office products and fitness-related items.

The latest addition is the Winston sit/stand workstation by Innovative, which was initially offered to D&H staffers as part of the company’s in-house healthy-habit initiative. The office-furniture alternative is thought to prevent the harmful physiological effects associated with sitting for prolonged periods of time.

The workstation, now available to D&H’s retail and e-tail customers for resale, can accommodate two mounted monitors, and its desktop adjusts in height to accommodate both sitting and standing attitudes.

The standing desk joins a host of ergonomically-designed office products carried by D&H, including mice, keyboards and laptop stands, which are fashioned to maintain comfort and avoid the negative effects of repetitive physical motions.  Brands include Microsoft, Adesso, Cooler Master, Genius, Manhattan, ParcSlope and SIIG. The distributor also offers adjunct products such as Fellowes’ Smart Suite under-desk “foot rocker” and Conair’s heated massage seat cushion for office or home use.

In addition, D&H stocks a variety of fitness-related items, including wearable health monitors such as the top-selling Fitbit and Striiv activity tracker wristbands. The devices feature such functions as step-counters, sleep monitors, alarms, and email/text alerts, and it integrates with smartphone-based apps to analyze and report data based on the user’s vital signs.

“The World Health Organization recently identified physical inactivity as the fourth largest killer worldwide, superseding even obesity,” said D&H senior sales VP Jeff Davis. “Such reports are driving companies and even home workers to promote more dynamic and comfortable postures over the course of the day. Our own management acknowledged this and realized the trend might point to a new sales opportunity. Much like our ‘green’ initiatives, this campaign can deliver benefits beyond just technology.  It can contribute to overall wellness.”
