Curacao Credits New Age Electronics For Sales Growth

Curacao, the Latino market department store chain, has given its 2015 Vendor Growth Award to New Age Electronics, which became the first distributor to receive the retailer’s accolade.

Curacao recognized New Age for helping it achieve “exceptional year-over-year growth” and develop key product categories including PC gaming.

“We are very proud of the long-standing relationship we have with New Age Electronics and value their commitment to helping us constantly improve our offerings for customers,” said Joaquin Stiker, Curacao’s product management and service senior VP. “We are confident that New Age Electronics will continue to help us expand our retail footprint by delivering leading products, industry expertise and top-notch support as our brand continues to grow and evolve.”

Curacao is a Los Angeles-based retailer that serves the Latino community from its 11 full-line department stores in Southern California and Arizona. A member of the NATM Buying Corp., the chain ranked 44th on TWICE’s Top 100 CE Retailers report, and placed 48th on the Top 50 Major Appliance Retailers listing.

The award was bestowed upon New Age at the company’s annual Curacao Vendor Event, held this year in South Gate, Calif.

Said New Age president Fred Towns: “We are honored to be recognized with the Vendor Growth Award by Curacao, a valued customer who is a great partner and neighbor of ours in the Los Angeles area.”

He continued, “While this award demonstrates the great success that can be achieved when distributors and retailers work hand-in-hand to stay ahead in the industry, we would also like to recognize our vendors, who continue to raise the bar by delivering best-in-class product offerings for us to bring to Curacao customers.”

Carson, Calif.-based New Age, a division of Synnex, was founded in 1988 and provides consumer technology manufacturers with a broad offering of logistics, distribution and remanufactured services.
